Grade 316L sheet is a low-carbon variant of 316 sheet that is not susceptible to sensitization. As a result, these sheets are commonly found in welded heavy-gauge components over about 6 mm. Among the austenitic stainless steels, grade 316 is the standard Molybdenum bearing grade, second only to 304 insignificance. The Stainless Steel 316 Sheets have a higher corrosion resistance overall as it has more molybdenum content than any other Stainless Steel Grade, especially in chloride environments were pitting and crevice corrosion is more common. These Sheets have outstanding forming and welding properties. These sheets are easily shaped into various components for industrial, Architectural, and Transportation applications. Welding small sections does not require post-weld annealing since the Stainless Steel Grade 316 sheet has good welding capabilities. These grade 316 sheets have outstanding durability, albeit at cryogenic temperatures, due to their austenitic composition. The Heating for these sheets is done at 1010-1120 Degrees C and is cooled immediately for solution treatment, that is, annealing, as the thermochemical hardening does not work on these grades 316 sheets. These sheets are often used in food processing equipment and benches for laboratories, panelling, railings, and trim for coastal architecture, fittings for boats, Containers for storing and transporting chemicals, Heat Exchangers, Mining, quarrying, and water filtration screens, woven or welded Springs, threaded fastening.
