Titanium is usually found in small amounts, approximately 0.5 percent in these sheets. At temperatures more than 700℃, the titanium atoms stabilize the 316 structure. This shields the metal from corrosion by preventing carbide precipitation at grain boundaries. The significant advantage of the 316Ti sheet is that it can withstand greater temperatures for more extended periods without sensitization, i.e., precipitation. The physical and mechanical characteristics of 316Ti are comparable to those of typical 316 grades.
