Showcasing the properties bestowed upon it by the presence of molybdenum, chromium, and nickel in its chemical composition, the 316LN grade stainless steel plates also possess moderate quantities of carbon and nitrogen. This chemical addition grants the alloy grade increased resistance to corrosion and strength. The lowering of carbon is responsible for the corrosion resistance property it displays against pitted and crevice corrosion. While on the other hand, adding nitrogen strengthens the alloy and increases its yield strength. Even with the slight variation in the chemistry of the plates, the presence of molybdenum maintains the resistance of the alloy against chloride ions.

The tensile strength and the hardness demonstrated by the 316LN Stainless Steel Plates are far better than the 316 grade. This property allows it to be used in functions or applications involving mechanical load and stress. The resistance of grade 316 against corrosion and heat is also impressive. It can withstand moderately oxidizing and reducing environments and the presence of chloride ions. The thermal stability it shows against soaring temperatures is an impressive trait that allows it to remain functional even when the temperatures far exceed those considered standard temperature conditions. The plates are also well-equipped to resist sulfurizing conditions.
