The Ti in 316Ti stands for titanium; therefore, the stainless steel 316Ti plates can be considered titanium-stabilized plates since titanium is added to the general composition of 316 alloy plates. Titanium is a lustrous metal that imparts even more resistance to the plates against intergranular corrosion. The mechanical and chemical properties of the plate are also influenced by molybdenum which is again responsible for the corrosion resistance trait of the plates and makes them more stable against elevated temperatures. With a balanced proportion of chromium to nickel, the hardness and the toughness are also increased, making it ideal in the case of rough conditions.

The stainless steel 316Ti plates display excellent weldability and formability which help the plate to function even under mechanical strain. Corrosion can be of different forms, such as intergranular corrosion, pitted corrosion, stress corrosion, and pitted corrosion, all of which are unwanted and can harm the plates’ stability.
